Millbrook Christian Anglers has the desire to provide a Christian environment for men, women, and their families to enjoy the sport of fishing, so that;

Rules

Review and Changing of Rules
The rules shall be reviewed for change in October. Any safety issues may be addressed during the year as the club sees fit.

Tournament Dates

  1. The tournament date shall be the 3rd Saturday of each month unless there is a conflict with a major church function whereby a different date can be changed by majority vote on the previous month.
  2. The Lake will be voted on one month prior to the tournament date.
  3. The Ramp and Blast off time will be voted on at the Thursday night meeting prior the tournament.

Tournament Participation and Partner Draw

Back Fees:
If a member becomes two months behind in fees, he/she will not be eligible for awards until back fees are paid.

Partner Draw:
Children under 17 years old must have written permission unless with their parent or guardian.
Children under 17 years old and/or female of any age must have a prearranged partner and will not be eligible for the draw.
It is preferred for each boater to draw for a partner at the meeting. For those who do not have prearranged partner, the drawing will be as follows:
a. Boaters:
Each member has the option to use his/her boat. A member wishing to use his boat will be assigned a number to be placed in the draw.
b. Non-Boaters:
Each non-boater will draw a boater number to determine the pairings.
c. Open Boats:
Following the draw, open boaters may:

  1. Fish open
  2. Pair-up with other open boaters, or
  3. 3.Bring a guest.

First Time Visitors or Contestants:

Have the option to join and pay the dues or fish as a guest for free. Guests are not eligible for tags.
Children under 17 years old must have written permission unless with their parent or guardian.
Children under 17 years old and/or female of any age must have a prearranged partner and will not be eligible for the draw.

Tackle and Equipment

Boating Equipment:
Only boats and motors complying with state laws will be permitted in tournaments.

Accessory Equipment:

Electronic trolling motors, depth finders and graphs (paper, LCR's, & CRT's), locations markers, temperature, oxygen and PH monitors, and other general accepted electronic equipment may be used.

Lures:
a. Only artificial lures may be used.
b. No live bait or prepared baits are allowed, except commercial pork baits.

Tackle:
a. All fish must be caught on a rod & reel.
b. Only one rod may be fished at one time.
c. Other rods may be pre-rigged and available for immediate use.

Fishing Methods:
Fish must be caught in an accepted conventional manner (No foul hooking of fish or trolling with gas motors).

Tournament Rules

Boat Operation and Expense:
Operating a boat in a negligent or unsafe manner or in violation of any state or federal law will result in immediate and final disqualification.
Adult partners will agree as to the expense sharing. Consideration should be given for travel to and from the tournament and travel on the water.

Tournament Hours:
Tournaments hours are 8 hours from voted blast-off time. Blast-off time will be voted on at the meeting before the tournament.

Blast-Off:
The boater's blast-off position shall be determined by draw, the night of the meeting for tournaments over 15 boats, otherwise boats will ease off keeping a safe distance for other boats. Any contestant not at the meeting shall go to the end of the line.
All boats should be in the water at blast-off time. In the case of darkness or bad weather, a simple majority has the right to postpone or delay the tournament.

If for some sound reason a member/contestant is late for the blast-off, the following options will apply:

Weigh-In:

  1. Only largemouth, Spotted, Smallmouth and Red Eye/Shoal bass will be counted. Mashed, mangled or foul-hooked bass will not be counted.
  2. A weigh-in deadline will be announced at the meeting. Fish must be caught by the contestant weighing them in unless pre-arranged with the tournament director.
  3. No more than one limit of fish should be brought to the scales. Once fish are placed in the scales, the contestant does not have the right to cull his string. Penalties will be incurred at that point.
  4. Contestants are encouraged to weigh their fish as soon as possible, however all fish must be weighed within 30 minutes of the weigh-in deadline.
  5. Contestants must be in the parking lot at the weigh-in deadline when trailering.
    Note: weigh-in deadline is defined as - inside the no wake buoy or in the weigh-in area, idle speed or less by the 8 hour fishing limit from the blast-off time.

Stringer Limit:
Five (5) fish.

Size Limit:
Minimum of twelve (12) inches per fish as measured by the tournament officials using a flat Golden Rule.

Leaving the Tournament Early:
If a contestant decides to leave a tournament early because of a pre-arranged agreement, he/she must notify the tournament director or someone at the meeting that he/she cannot fish the entire tournament. If this is the case, another member/contestant may weigh-in that member/contestant's fish for him/her. If a member/contestant leaves because of weather or unforeseen circumstances, he/she should leave a note or notify another member/contestant that he/she is leaving the tournament.

Life Preservers:
Life jackets will be worn while the boat is on plane and in accordance with state law.

Alcohol and Profanity:
Alcohol and profanity are absolutely prohibited.

Penalties and Protests

The following penalties will apply to all tournaments.

Late For Weigh-In:
A one (1) pound penalty of total weight will be assessed for each minute late up to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, no fish will be weighed.
Note: weigh-in deadline is defined as - inside the no wake buoy or in the weigh-in area, idle speed or less by the 8 hour fishing limit from the blast-off time.

Too Many Fish Weighed-In:
For each fish over the five (5) fish limit placed in the weigh-in scales, the string will be culled beginning with the largest fish down to a five (5) fish limit.

Small Fish:
A Contestant will lose one (1) pound per short fish for each fish less than 12 inches placed in the weigh-in scales.
Minimum of twelve (12) inches per fish as measured by the tournament officials using a flat Golden Rule.

Scoring System

The following point system will be used to determine the standings for Millbrook Christian Bass Anglers.

Tournament Weigh-In Points:
Points will be awarded to all participants who attend a tournament. Points will be awarded based on total weight as follows.

1st Place 100 points
Subsequent places: Decline by 1 point per place
Non-Weighing Contestants: 1 point less than the last weight place.

Tags will be awarded to the top five places in the adult division and the top youth angler will be awarded a tag if he/she caught a fish.

A tag will be awarded to the person weighing in the tournament big fish five pounds or larger (one tag per tournament).

Tie Breaker will be used for tournaments and Year to Date results as follows.
Rule 1: (1st priority) most fish caught
Rule 2: (2nd priority) big fish
Weight averaging: averages points for ties. Contestants still get correct points; however in case of a tie contestants will be averaged.
Example: 1st=100, 2nd=tie (98.5 x 2), 3rd=97...

Tournament Bonus Points:

Big Fish 5 points
Limit of Fish 5 points

Attendance Points:

Each meeting attended 10 points

Year to Date:

The two lowest tournaments will be dropped including meeting points.

Awards:
The following awards will be presented at the close of the tournament year:

  1. Hank Drawdy Award
  2. 1st Place - Angler of the Year - (Based on points)
  3. 2nd Place (Based on points)
  4. 3rd Place (Based on points)
  5. 4th Place (Based on points)
  6. 5th Place (Based on points)
  7. Big Fish
  8. Big Stringer
  9. Top Non-Boater (Based on points)
